Asia Meat Dog Rescue
The slaughterhouses in Asia are operating in full force and tens of thousands of dogs are earmarked for death, enduring a horrible “life” of painful suffering, torture and cruelty as they await their fate. Despite misleading recent announcements that dogs have been taken off the agricultural list, the horrific practice of killing dogs for human consumption still continues every single day. Thousands of innocent dogs are being boiled, skinned, beaten, and burned alive, moments before death, to create “fragrant meat,” a delicacy in Asia.
Many of these dogs have not felt grass beneath their feet and have been living in fear for too long. In Asia, without proper permitting and weight restrictions a dog can be taken from their owner in a moment, placed on a meat truck and sold at the market. Imagine taking your dog for a walk and having them stolen from you in an instant, never seeing them again.
In 2019, Big Dog Ranch Rescue flew to Asia and saved the lives of over 1,000 dogs. Thousands still remain hidden and protected in a secret warehouse, moved from location to location to avoid discovery and a return to the slaughterhouses. As long as these dogs remain in Asia, they are in grave danger. We paid for their lives, but now we need to bring them home to safety. Due to COVID-19, all flights have been cancelled and our rescue partner is now being put at risk as the government is trying to take their land.
Not only are we saving precious dogs from an existence dedicated solely to slaughter, we are bringing unique and hard to find breeds to families who have specified their desire for the dogs. So the mission in no way impacts our work locally but it does shine a light on an inhumane problem that exists. Please be part of making our world a safer, more humane and more loving place for our four legged companions whose innate love of all humanity knows no borders.
Big Dog Ranch Rescue has secured a private charter to bring 300-500 fortunate dogs to safety. We are ready with flight plans, we have identified the dogs we can retrieve, we have a pilot standing by to make the long journey, we have customs and government clearance to perform the rescue, we even have prospective adopters for the new arrivals, but we need your donation. For thousands of dogs, we are their only way out.
