Kimchi the Puppy

KIMCHI

KIMCHI, an 8-week-old puppy was discovered along the roadside with signs of blunt force trauma to her head. Kimchi arrived at Big Dog Ranch Rescue, and after a thorough medical examination, our veterinarians have determined that sadly, this blunt-force trauma was more than likely caused by a deliberate kick or forceful injury inflicted by a person. Kimchi urgently required a surgery and CT scan to repair a dislocated jaw on both sides.

After meeting with our medical specialist at MedVet Jupiter yesterday, it was confirmed that Kimchi’s jaw was broken on both sides. Today, she successfully underwent a mandibular fracture repair, and her jaw will be wired shut for the next three weeks with a feeding tube so Kimchi can receive the necessary nutrition needed to survive and heal.

This costly and extensive surgical procedure, combined with the critical aftercare recovery while Kimchi remains in ICU care with our specialist, has surpassed our initial medical estimate. Because of your support, we were able to give this precious 8-week-old puppy a second chance at life. As Kimchi recovers, we will be continuing to follow her journey with updates. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your generous and life-saving contributions!
