You want to talk about a rough start in life?  Before we met Silver, she got hit by a car and her front leg was badly injured so they were going to euthanize her.  Big Dog Ranch stepped in and saved her life.  That was the first good thing that happened to her… but she still had a long road ahead.  Unfortunately her leg had gone far too long without medical attention so it had to be amputated.  Many dogs get around on three legs, but a missing front leg is tougher than a hind leg.  After watching her for a bit we noticed that her remaining front leg had an old injury and it cannot take the constant impact and weight that she would need to put on it to get around.  So we are now having a special brace made for her to give her support and stability.

All the while she’s been a trooper.  Here is what her foster Mom Bev has to say:

Silver’s really coming out of her shell.  Loves playing and chasing (as well as she can) my other dog who loves it.  Needs to constantly be by your side (typical weim) loves attention and gives a lot of kisses.  Also seems to have taken charge as the announcer of guests at the front door!  I applaud Lauree’s decision to save her. I am hopeful the brace will give her a lot of added traction and stability – balance is still an issue.  She is a healthy and alert dog and picking up a few tricks from my other dog (quick study).   We love her!

Silver is a gorgeous young Weimaraner who surely deserves the 2nd chance we are giving her but it comes at a price.  Between her amputation, follow up medial bills and her new brace, we have invested well over $1,000 in this sweet girl.  So if you have a few dollars to spare, please ChipIn and help this poor girl.  We are dedicated to her and we hope you are too!  Please donate below now!
